When I fast for spiritual reasons, I am not just purifying my body and drawing closer to God. I am also doing something profoundly financial. The fast that feeds the soul quietly starves the spending habit at the same time.

Most people are handed a script for life—and they follow it without question. Go to school. Go to college. Get a good job. Buy a house. Raise a family. Retire. And eventually… fade out. On paper, it looks stable. Predictable. Safe.
